End of the Year Performances

The fall semester is coming to an end, and it is easy to check out as a student and community member. However, students have been working hard all semester to create quality performances for our enjoyment. Below is a list of most, if not all, of the upcoming performances on campus this semester. Skim through, pick out a show, and see the talent we have here at Millikin. It could be the pick-me-up you need to finish this semester strong.

 

Student Organizations:

 

Physical Graffiti

A fun hip-hop dance group presenting an apocalypse-themed show that is sure to thrill.

 

When— November 20th | 7:30 p.m. and 9:30 p.m.

Where— Studio 300, Center for Theater and Dance

Ticket information— Presale tickets cost $5, and tickets purchased at the door cost $7. Tickets can be purchased through @cassidyculjat on Venmo. Note that presale ends November 19th at midnight. For more info, visit PG’s Instagram.

 

Gregory

A tap-dancing group with a variety of dancers eager to present a western-themed show.

 

When— December 5th | 11 p.m.

Where— Studio 300, Center for Theater and Dance

Math Club

A student improv group that presents a variety of hysterical improv games.

 

When— December 6th | 10 p.m. 

Where— Kaeuper Hall, Perkinson Music Center

Un Bit Butter

Millikin’s neo-futurist group whose show is a whirlwind of emotions that will be sure to shock you. 

When— December 13th | 10 p.m. and 12 a.m.

Where— Pipe Dreams Studio Theater

School of Theater and Dance Performances:

 

Solstice: A Concert of Dance, Directed by Angela Miller

Featuring a variety of dance styles, choreographed by both faculty and students, that showcases the strength and creativity of the dance program.

 

When— December 11th | 7:30 p.m.

         December 12th | 7:30 p.m.

         December 13th | 7:30 p.m.

Where— Virginia Rogers Theatre, Center for Theater and Dance

Ticket information— To buy tickets in advance, you can visit this link. On the day of the performance, the box office opens in the Center for Theater and Dance two hours before the performance. Note that student discounts are not available online. Additionally, tickets can be purchased through the Kirkland Fine Arts Center box office, which is open Tuesdays-Fridays from 12:00-4:30 p.m.

 

School of Music Performances:

 

Vespers

Millikin’s most popular holiday event, featuring over 200 musicians performing carols and arrangements that will fill you with seasonal warmth.

 

When— December 6th | 2 p.m. and 7:30 p.m.

         December 7th | 2 p.m.

Where— Kirkland Fine Arts Center

Ticket information— To buy tickets in advance, you can visit this link or call the ticket office at 217-424-6318. Additionally, tickets can be purchased through the Kirkland Fine Arts Center box office, which is open Tuesdays-Fridays from 12:00-4:30 p.m.

 

 

Also, check out the art exhibits on display! Exhibits are open to the public for no cost.

 

Frank Lloyd Wright: Schumacher Textiles Exhibit 

F. Schumacher and Company, manufacturer of wallpapers, textiles, and other interior design accessories, produced a range of decorative designs by Frank Lloyd Wright. 

 

When— Open until November 30th

Where— Perkinson Art Gallery, Kirkland Fine Arts Center

 

Nihonga Artists from the Japanese Painting Academy 

Nihonga is a Japanese style of painting that typically uses mineral pigments, and occasionally ink, together with other organic pigments on silk or paper.

 

When— Open until December 19th

Where— Robert Crowder Art Gallery, Kirkland Fine Arts Center
